原画展に寄せて
草花の絵を描くことは私にとって自己表現の手段ではありません。
草花を照らし出す太陽の光とその影、植物の間をすりぬけていく微風、漂う花の芳香、森に響き渡る鳥の歌を、紙の上に描き出したい。ただただ目の前にある花のありのままの姿を出来得る限り美しく描きたいという想いで、植物の絵を描き続けてきました。
ロシアの詩人アファーナシイ・フェートが、植物の美しさを見事に言い表しています。
「さながら二重の生命を感ずるやうに、 またその生命の二重の吐息を受け・・・・彼らは生みの大地を感じ、 しかもまた天上への憧憬をもつ。」
私はこの言葉を読む時、大地に生まれ天を目指して伸びていく植物を目の当たりに見るような気がし、またこの言葉が人間の姿をも言い表しているような気がしてなりません。
もしかしたら、私が他のどんな物を描くよりも草花を描く事を愛しているのは、自分自身と植物の間に深く通ずるものを感じているからなのかもしれません。
この度ギャラリーコバコgallery cobacoで作品を展示させて頂けることをとても有難く、嬉しく思っております。スタイリッシュなガラス張りの小箱の空間を、野花、鳥のさえずり、蝶の羽ばたきで一杯にして、皆様のお越しをお待ちしております。

My thoughts on my exhibition
Painting flowers is not a means of self-expression for me. What I try to capture is the beauty of flowers and plants as they really are, including sunshine and shadow on them, a gentle breeze between them, the fragrance of them, the imperfections and vulnerability of them...That has been my main motivation.
The Russian poet Afanasy Fet described the beauty of plants perfectly in one of his poems: Plants feel the earth that gave them birth and at the same time long for above - the sky, as they are connected to both and are loved by both...
When I read this, I can almost see plants growing in front of me, and I even think this actually describes humans as well. I have things in common with plants, and perhaps this is the answer why I love painting them more than anything else.
