白むくげ
細きうてなより
咲き出でて
はかなきけふを
生ききらんとす
むくげの花の周りを見事なアゲハ蝶が飛び回っていました。ナガサキアゲハというのだそうです。絵にすると、むくげの中心の濃い紅色とアゲハのオレンジ色の模様が相まって、良い感じです。むくげって、一日で萎んでしまうのに、こんなに長くたくさん咲き続けるのが不思議です！

Yesterday I found a big black butterfly flying around the rose of Sharon flowers. The butterfly is called 'Nagasaki Ageha'. Bright pink patterns in the flower and orange patterns on the butterfly look nice together in the painting I think. Each flower ends its life in one day, but it's amazing that 20 to 30 flowers keep blooming everyday on one tree over several months!
